I am incredibly honored to be able to to bring dealer and American antiques Icon Marge Staufer to the pages of A Simple Life. Marge has been making her mark on our industry for over 60 years. She truly was one of the pioneers in this business in so many ways – one that stands out is being among the very first to move a dismantled New England home to Ohio. Through this article I hope to honor and uplift Marge for the incredible dealer, early restorationist, preservationist and icon that she is today!

The home of Robert and Robert Patsy Martin has been a reader favorite over the years. We visited Patsy back in 2011 for Christmas, and she has appeared in other various features often. In the upcoming Spring 2018 issue, we show Patsy’s bedrooms – which weren’t seen back in 2011. This promises to be another READER FAVORITE! She has a Gentleman’s Room, Woman’s Room and Children’s Room!

Allen and Jean Gilliland have an early American collection in their home, as well as a wonderful primitive collection in the log cabin on their property. The best of both worlds!

We focus on early Tape Looms in this issue, with an informative article from Helen Pringle. Many fine examples illustrate it!

  3. I am looking forward to our new Spring Issue! Thes upcoming homes sound full of inspiration and beauty. Just in time tp shake off the Winter doldrums too!!

Jill, I am in the process of making my office room into a little log cabin with log cabin wallpaper and paint!! Now, I am going to use all of my old issues of ASL to craft the way it will look when finished . It will take time hunting down the correct pieces. All of your log cabin feature articles have had me mulling over how to make a “log cabin” a reality with the resources I have. Appalachian inspiration has taken over and once I get done, even Aunt Airie would feel at home in my recreation!

  4. “Sitting beside the mailbox” is a great picture! Meanwhile, leafing through back issues which are practically memorized gets you through the long hard winter.

    1. LOL!!!! For all who can’t view the mailbox from their house….please, would someone invent a way for folks to know the mail truck has delivered?? Heaven knows, we here could use the exercise but sometimes the weather makes it rough….I’m just sayin’. LOL!!!!
